NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched its latest 5G smartphone- Vivo Y70s in China. This is the first smartphone to be powered by the recently launched Exynos 880 processor from Samsung. The smartphone comes with a starting price of 1,998 yuan (Rs 21,200) and will start selling from June 1. The smartphone will come in three color options – Black, Blue and Gradient White.

The Vivo Y70s comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD + display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution. The smartphone runs Android 10 operating system topped with the company’s own Funtouch OS 10.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 880 processor coupled with 6GB / 8GB of RAM. The device offers 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card. The handset comes with dual SIM functionality and is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Vivo Y70s sports a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main sensor with f / 1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultraviolet sensor with f / 2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f / 2.4 aperture. The front has a 16MP selfie shooter with f / 2.0 aperture. Measuring 162.07 × 76.61 × 8.46 mm, the smartphone is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging support.

On the connectivity front, the Vivo Y70s offer dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type C.

Recently, Vivo announced the winners of its ‘Make in India’ logo competition. The smartphone maker announced that this logo will be printed on all Vivo devices, including the recently launched Vivo V19. Along with this, the company also announced an investment of Rs 3,500 crore in its upcoming manufacturing facility. The total investment of the brand in India for manufacturing equipment will be Rs 7,500 crore.
