Weight Loss Story: “I lost 21 kg without going to gym and following my conscience fast!”

The duration took me to lose weight:
Ten Months

the turning point: Even though I slowly gained a lot of weight after my wedding, the day I realized that none of my dresses fit me, it was a huge shock! I weighed 71 kg and the fat percentage parameter put me in the obesity category. Even the size of my clothes had jumped from ‘M’ to size XL ‘! Once, I realized that I needed to lose weight, I tried to regain several diets that actually affect my immune system. So, I decided to stop intermittently and when the magic started happening!

my breakfast: I wanted to do something that I could continue for a long time. Therefore, being a South Indian, I am ready to eat South Indian breakfasts like Idli, Dosa, Upma, Ragi porridge regularly.

My lunch: Curry, 1 chapati, a portion of vegetables, boiled beans, 1-2 eggs and buttermilk. I also switched between chicken and prawns.


my dinner:
I made it a point to have a big, balanced meal for my dinner

Pre-Workout Meal: I worked during my fasting window of IF (intermittent fasting), so I did not eat anything before my workout.

Post-meal Meal: Almonds and 2 boiled eggs

I indulge: Since I did not go for any diet, I ate homemade food regularly. All my meals were balanced with carbs, protein and fat and I made it a point to drink lots of water. Once a week, I will mix my favorite Dominos Choco Lava Cake with White Sauce Pasta

My Workout: Initially, I was not very comfortable with extensive work out sessions, so I chose to walk and climb stairs. Gradually, as I started losing weight, I balanced my workout routine with cardio and strength training at home. I absolutely vouch on mountain climbers squat variations. I can proudly say that I never stepped inside a gym and did all my workouts at home. And by doing so, I have reduced my fat percentage and toned my physique.

I swear by low-calorie dishes: Unfortunately, I have realized that I am not a low carb person. I tried Keto, got sick and my immune system was ruined.

Fitness secret I unveiled: Intermittent fasting worked really well for me! Additionally, I made sure to stay consistent with my efforts, eat healthy and stay hydrated.

How do I stay motivated? Even though I received unconditional support from my friends and family in my weight loss journey, there is no greater motivation than watching myself transform. Once, I could see visible results, not looking back. Every day on my journey to lose weight felt a new learning experience.

How do you ensure that you will not focus your attention? One of the simplest ways to keep yourself motivated is to take a look at your old photos and see how far you have come in life. For me, it is my biggest source of inspiration and helps me keep moving forward in life. I decided to create a Facebook page Inter India Intermittent Fasting for Women ‘to support women of all age groups who wish to lose weight in a healthy way and get back in shape. Page has over 12 thousand members so far, who inspire and continuously challenge each other to do better.


What shape do you see yourself below the 10-year line?
I see myself as a very healthy and active person who is helping others to achieve their weight loss goals.

What are the lifestyle changes you have made? I made a lot of lifestyle changes to reach my weight loss goal. Some of them include:

1. Eating a balanced diet

2. Taking my micros as natural foods (not packaged products)

3. Eating junk food and sweets

4. Work regularly and devote 100 percent of your efforts to it


What was the lowest point for you?
The lowest part of my weight loss journey was when my immune system suffered immensely due to a low carb diet. I was admitted to a hospital, lost my immunity and when I was discharged, I was overall worse. Additionally, my weight had also increased after the illness and I realized that even though I wanted to lose weight, I had lost my health in the process.

Lessons learned from weight loss: It is important to understand that you cannot lose weight overnight. Also, you need to be consistent and patient with your efforts to see the changes in your body.
