In an operation in the Dharampuri district of Tamil Nadu, forest workers and villagers threw an elephant out from under a well, which took more than 12 hours. A farmer heard an elephant roar and alerted local authorities who reached the 55-foot-deep (16.7-meter) well with a 50-foot team.
Despite the depth of the well, the water inside was shallow and thrown out to make it easier for the 25-year-old boy to reach the elephant. Two diggers, a truck and a crane were used in the operation, which did not harm the elephant.
The elephant will be released in the forest area of nearby Hoover
